Budget-Friendly Dining Room Makeover in style becomes effortlessly achievable with a touch of inspiration and Fusion™ Mineral Paint. Adjacent to the kitchen, this modest dining space opens up to a small balcony on the second floor. The set-up was charming, however, the lacklustre yellow-beige walls failed to stimulate my appetite. Determined to infuse my personal touch, I decided to craft a dining room feature wall that resonated with my aesthetic.
Typical of rental spaces, the room boasted off-white walls and doors painted in a sombre dark grey. Thankfully, the landlord permitted me to paint, and I seized the opportunity.
Create A Striking Dining Room Feature Wall On A Budget
The unremarkable beige walls were transformed with a tasteful neutral Fusion white, instantly altering the ambiance of the space.
Contemplating a feature wall, I considered wallpaper, but the cost was a concern. Embracing the trend of murals, I opted for various shades of pink, a favourite colour of mine. If you have a preferred colour, integrating it across your rooms in different tones can create a cohesive look.
Alternative to wallpaper
Avoid the challenges of traditional wallpaper applications and embrace an affordable alternative – wall murals! Not only do hand-painted murals offer creative freedom, but they also come at a fraction of the cost. Explore the ease and affordability of adding a personalized touch to your walls through mural painting. Unlock a world where creativity meets budget-conscious decor. Transforming your living space into a visual masterpiece without the hassle and expense.
Budget-Friendly Dining Room Makeover
I took a freehand approach, painting mountain tops across the lower half of the dining room wall. We love how this turned out, resulting in an inspiring visual. For those apprehensive about mural painting, creating a sample on some scrapboard can boost confidence. There’s no right or wrong way to undertake this creative project.
Tips For Dining Table Style
Happy with how the wall looked I turned my attention to setting up the dining table. Opting for a simple, expandable wood table and a space-saving bench, I scoured clearance sales for dishes and accessories. It adds harmony with my pink and white colour scheme. Mixing and matching dishes, along with adding candles, fresh linens, and a vase of greenery. This effortlessly and inexpensively introduced texture and fresh style. Ready to dine mountainside.
Bright ideas for rental dining room
To Maximize natural light during the day, I chose pendants and lamps. In the evening they seamlessly blended with and elevated the room’s style. The doors at the far end, were initially painted in a dark blue/grey with white shutters. This posed a challenge to my vision of a light, breezy decor. Removing the shutters and painting the doors white made a substantial difference. It has allowed the sun to flood in and open up the space.
To Emphasise the importance of lighting, I swapped out the matching metal pendant lamps for a brighter option. The wood trim complemented the dining furniture.
