Ikea Hack: The Carpentry Work
For this Ikea hack, we purchased one unfinished Ivar cabinet to make a small armoire. We did some carpentry work by adding a base to add some height and lift it off the ground. We also added a solid walnut top and new large handles that were cut and made from the same solid walnut plank.

After all carpentry work was completed, we mixed equal parts water and equal parts Toasted Coconut Fusion Milk Paint.
To learn how to mix properly watch the video here.
We needed two coats of paint for complete coverage. Since the wood was unfinished, we did not need to add Fusion Ultra Grip to our mixed paint. We did, however, sand a little all over because the wood on the Ivar cabinet is a bit rough. To learn how to get a smooth finish, check out our video here!
Ikea Hack: Adding the Walnut
The walnut wood on top was a little dry so we rehydrated it with Fusion Hemp Oil and boy what a difference it made on the solid walnut wood. It brought out such richness to the wood. We also applied hemp oil to the new pulls.
For the body of the armoire, we applied Fusion Clear Wax.
For a little contrast to the interior, we painted it with Fusion Mineral Paint. We mixed some “Plaster” and “Limestone” which we had left over.
