How to Use Hemp Oil on Wood Floors
Step 1
PREP! We gave the floor a good sweep to get rid of the dust from sanding. More than anything, you want to make sure your surface is as clean, mainly from any sticky residue (think spilled juice, glue, and other condiments). Anything that could block the absorption of the oil. So pick up the broom or grab your vacuum and tidy up the space.
Step 2
POUR! Using our Hemp Oil is as easy as pouring it over your surface and watch the magic happen. Because it contains no chemicals, you can use your hands to spread it out over the surface just like Jennylyn did in her bedroom. Afterward, you take a rag or a brush and begin to cover the surface with the oil.
Let the wood tell you how much it needs. You will know right away. Depending on the existing condition of your floors and the type of wood you’re using it on, you may find the wood either absorbs it quicker and drinks it all up, or you won’t need as much as you thought.
If you find it is pooling in areas that are not as dry as others, you can easily wipe those areas off with a cloth, going in the direction of the wood grain. It is important to pay attention to those spots where it can pool, as if you let it remain with too much on, it can become tacky. So wiping off the excess is important.
This picture really highlights the contrast of the wood that has been treated with our Hemp Oil and the ones that have not (poor dry things!).
STEP 3
DRYING – It takes weeks for the oil to fully dry, though it should be dry to the touch within minutes to an hour after it is absorbed and wiped down. Once again during this time, pay attention during this time to the areas that may pool. Once the oil has dried (within an hour or so), you can use it but it can take weeks for the Hemp Oil to actually cure.

MAINTENANCE FOR WOOD FLOORS TREATED WITH HEMP OIL
Re-applications of Hemp Oil on your wood floors will depend on how you clean your floors. How much soap and water and other cleaning products you use and how often you use them. You may find a reapplication once every 6 months is enough or you even do it once a year. Use your own discretion as everyone’s home, environment and lifestyle habits are different.
Hemp oil can be used on non-porous surfaces as well. Although it is important to note that Hemp Oil does not add protection to things like cast iron or marble. It is wonderful for brightening up the look of these types of items and making them look shiny and new.
You can use this technique on butcher block countertops, trays, cutting boards, tables or other wood products that you want to keep looking beautiful! If you use Hemp Oil on Fusion Mineral Paint painted furniture, it adds a beautiful sheen. But does not add a layer of protection. It can just alter the look of your piece.
