Whether you’re an experienced DIYer or new to painting furniture, this project is perfect for everyone. Plus, it’s fun, easy, and rewarding. Let’s dive into the steps of our Entryway Console Table Refresh that’ll turn your side table into the highlight of your entryway.
The Before:
What You’ll Need for an Entryway Console Table Refresh
Fusion Mineral Paint in Chateau: a stunning, soft greige with just enough warmth to create a welcoming vibe.
TSP Alternative: Fusion’s go-to cleaner for ensuring your piece is ready for paint.
Staalmeester Rollers: For easy application!
Ultra Guard (optional): For extra protection, this water-based polyurethane topcoat comes in Flat or Satin and adds durability against everyday wear.
Step 1: Clean Your Table with TSP Alternative
Every great paint job starts with prep. Give your side table a thorough clean with TSP Alternative, Fusion Mineral Paint’s organic, biodegradable degreaser that makes sure surfaces are grime-free for better adhesion. Just dampen a cloth with the solution, wipe down the surface, and let it dry. You’re already halfway there!
Step 2: Apply Fusion Mineral Paint in Chateau
Now for the fun part—painting! We used a Staalmeester roller to apply Chateau on the top of the table, ensuring smooth and even coverage with minimal effort. For the rest of the piece, we switched to the Staalmeester Decoration Spalter brush, which allowed us to get into every nook and cranny with precision and a flawless finish. This combination of tools made painting both fast and easy, achieving a beautiful result with no visible brush strokes. The soft greige is so chic; it adds elegance while keeping things light and versatile. Let this coat dry for about an hour, then follow with a second coat for full coverage.
Fusion Mineral Paint is self-leveling, meaning you get a beautiful finish without visible brush strokes.
Step 3: Optional Protection with Ultra Guard
You can skip a top coat if your side table won’t be exposed to heavy wear. But if you anticipate it being a hotspot for keys, bags, or knick-knacks, consider adding a layer of Ultra Guard in either Flat or Satin. This durable, water-based polyurethane topcoat offers excellent protection without clouding or yellowing, so your freshly painted finish stays as beautiful as day one. Ultra Guard’s unique formula prevents streaking and has added silica for scratch and abrasion resistance, making it ideal for high-traffic areas.
And there you have it—an entryway refresh that’s budget-friendly and boosts curb appeal in less than an afternoon. With Fusion Mineral Paint and a few easy steps, you’ve created a welcoming space that’s truly ‘you.’
