Here we are with our next feature, this time the amazingly talented Renovelle by Vilma! She decided to take this little Jewellery Dresser and give it a makeover and we’ve got to say, WOW!
Supply List
- TSP Alternative
- Sanding Pads
- Natural Bristle Brush
- Ageing Wax
- Hemp Oil
- Casa Rosa Milk Paint
- Toasted Coconut Milk Paint
- Amalfi Coast
Prepping the jewellery box
Vilma first cleaned the piece with Fusions TSP Alternative and light sanding all over to remove the shiny finish. Then removed any dust with a damp cloth.
She applied a couple of coats of Zinsser Bin to prevent any bleed-through or tannins from coming through the paint finish
Boho finish
Casa Rosa, Toasted Coconut, and Amalfi Coast were selected for this unique piece.
The coverage of this colour is amazing! even on the first coat.
Once the jewellery box had one coat of Casa Rosa a dripping wash was applied to the side using Toasted Coconut and Amalfi Coast. Vilma watered down the paint and let it drip down the side of the furniture piece. She then blotted it with a dry and clean cloth and repeated the process until the desired patina look was achieved.
Sealing your Milk Paint
Vilma applied some raised stencilling and a few mouldings and sealed everything with Hemp Oil. A few days later, she applied Fusions Ageing wax onto the entire piece to incorporate depth and offer protection by sealing up the Milk Paint.
