Choosing White Paint for a Bathroom Makeover sounds simple… until you actually have to do it. Suddenly, every white looks different. Too cool, too warm, too grey, too yellow. And in a space like a bathroom, where lighting shifts throughout the day, it becomes even more important to get it right.
This makeover was all about finding that perfect balance.

The Challenge: Finding the Right White
Bathrooms are unique spaces.
They often have:
- changing natural and artificial light
- reflective surfaces like mirrors and tile
- higher humidity
All of this affects how a colour looks and feels.
So instead of guessing, I tested.
Why Testers Make All the Difference
This is where Fusion™ Testers truly shine. Instead of relying on a paint chip or trying to imagine the colour, you can:
- Paint directly onto your walls
- See how the colour shifts throughout the day
- Test different areas and angles
Because here’s the truth: Colour is never static. It changes with:
- Daylight vs evening light
- Shadows and reflections
- Surrounding finishes and décor
I always recommend:
- Looking at your samples during the day
- Checking them again at night
- Viewing them from different angles
This step makes all the difference in choosing with confidence.
Choosing White Paint for a Bathroom Makeover Doesn’t Have to be Overwhelming
If you’ve ever tried to choose a white paint from a big box store, you’ll know how quickly it becomes overwhelming.
There can be hundreds, sometimes thousands, of whites, all with the slightest variation in undertones. At that point, it becomes less about choosing a colour and more about second-guessing every option.
That’s something we’ve intentionally simplified with Fusion.

All of our colours are distinctly different once painted out. You can truly see the difference, even on our colour cards. We’ve done the work for you by carefully curating shades that are clearly defined, with thoughtful undertones described for each one.
So instead of feeling overwhelmed, you can feel confident in your choice.

The Contenders
For this space, I narrowed it down to four beautiful neutrals:

- Chateau – A refined, classic neutral with a slightly deeper tone. It leans warm but has enough depth to add sophistication without feeling heavy.
- Cashmere – A soft, balanced neutral with a gentle warmth. It’s incredibly versatile—never too yellow, never too grey—making it an easy, elegant choice for any space.
- Champlain – A light, airy neutral with subtle warmth. It feels fresh and clean, perfect for brightening a space while still maintaining softness.
- Limestone – A cooler, muted neutral with a hint of grey. It brings a more modern, understated feel and works beautifully in spaces where you want a crisp, refined look.
Why I Chose Cashmere
In the end, Cashmere was the perfect choice.

It sits right in the middle—balanced, soft, and incredibly easy to live with.
What I loved most:
- Cashmere has a hint of warmth, without feeling creamy or yellow
- It works beautifully in both natural and artificial light
- This colour complements a wide range of finishes
And importantly, this is not stark white.
Why an Off-White Works Better
True, bright whites can often feel harsh, especially in a bathroom where light reflects off tile, mirrors, and fixtures. They can come across as cold or overly clinical.
Instead, we chose a soft off-white. Cashmere brings just enough warmth to:
- soften the space
- create a more inviting, relaxed atmosphere
- pair beautifully with natural materials and greenery
It’s subtle but it makes all the difference in how the room feels.
Why Fusion Works So Well in Bathrooms
Bathrooms need a paint that can handle real life. Fusion™ Mineral Paint works beautifully in high-humidity areas because:
- Offers excellent durability
- Resists everyday wear
- Maintains a smooth, consistent finish
It’s a reliable, worry-free choice for spaces that see daily use.
The Result: Fresh, Calm, and Effortless

This bathroom now feels:
- bright, but not stark
- warm, but not heavy
- simple, yet thoughtfully designed
The right white doesn’t just lighten a space; it transforms how it feels,
The Details: Bringing the Space to Life
Once the walls were complete, the styling brought everything together.
This space is layered with natural, organic elements:
- Lush greenery and hanging planters
- Moss wall adding softness and texture
- Beautiful wood branch used to suspend planters
These details create warmth and contrast against the soft neutral walls, making the space feel alive, fresh, and calming.
