Here we are with our next feature piece, this time by the ever-so-talented Renovelle by Vilma! We love Vilmas work and just had to show you this stunning baby dresser makeover.
Here she decided to upcycle a pretty soft and delicate designed baby dresser using 2 of the new colours from Fusion and some Milk Paint too.
Supplies
- TSP Alternative for cleaning
- Sanding with 60# grid and 220#
- Staalmeester brush 1 ½ The one series
- Hotel Robe Fusion Milk Paint
- SFO white
- Clear Tough coat
- Mist
- Victorian Lace
- Furniture transfers
Prep
First Velma wiped the dresser with Fusion TSP Alternative. Then she prepped the top so it was ready for staining using 60 and 220 grit sandpaper. Vilma sanded the entire body of the dresser ready to paint.
Blending Fusion Mineral Paint
Vilma has a wonderful technique for blending Fusion Mineral Paint and it is fascinating to watch it all come together!
Velma blended with Victorian Lace and Mist to use for the body of the dresser. You can see this blending effect you can watch Vilma painting it live over on Fusion Mineral Paints’ Facebook page here!
Hotel Robe
Hotel Robe is Fusion’s whitest white in the line and this was used as a wash on the insides of the drawers. Velma chose White Stain and Finishing Oil for the freshly sanded top. We then applied it and left it to soak into the grain for a few minutes. Then all the excess was wiped back.
SFO White Wash
Vilma applied a coat of Fusion Stain and Finishing Oil in White. This gave the wooden top a soft subtle whitewashed look.
Liberally apply the Stain and Finishing Oil, allowing to soak into the grain of the prepped wood and then remove all the excess. SFO is a great hardwearing topcoat.
Adding the details
Vilma then finished off this cutie with transfer stamps & furniture transfers from Re-Design by Prima. Don’t you think the overall design of this baby dresser is stunning and sure to be cherished?
