In this roundup, we’re featuring gorgeous projects shared by talented creators from our Paint It Beautiful Facebook Group, using Fusion favourites like Coal Black, Cast Iron, Eucalyptus, and Wood Wick. Each piece shows just how versatile a paint wash can be — from moody and rustic to soft, earthy, and timeless.
Paint Wash Inspiration from Paint It Beautiful
The Curated Attic showed us just how incredible and easy a blackwashed finish with Coal Black is. She said “It is such a dark and moody look with wood grain showing through.”

Using Cast Iron, Click2Restore showed us a “gorgeous sideboard that needs not much description as the details are speaking for itself. (She) decided to do a black wash to enhance those details, replaced the hardware, added some decoupage paper and she shined again.”

Another stunning Black Washed with Coal Black, The Painters Parlour exclaims “Simply clean your piece with TSP, scuff sand to give the paint something to grab on to, remove dust, mist surface with water and paint on “Coal Black”. Wipe back with a lint-free cloth as much or as little as you’d like.”

Revived by Chelsea shows us how a Green Wash using Eucalyptus tones down the orange tones of an oak furniture piece. Just check out this before & after!

Baer Upcycling Treasures says “Have you guys used Woodwick for your paint wash finishes? I’m obsessed with the richness of the colour on these oak wood nightstands”

Marcy Bos used Wood Wick to both paint and paint wash this beautiful piece! “We used Wood Wick on this vintage beauty, and also used a Wood Wick color wash to stain the top, drawers and cupboards.”

Natalie Wilkins created a beautiful White Oak Wash on this side table.

Gloria Prince created a moody and timeless black wash with Coal Black. “Used paper by zazzle on top drawer, top, sides and in between drawers are painted, other drawers lightly washed in black fusion paint, handles purchased black and highlighted in antique gold, ridges on sides lightly painted with antique gold”

Adriana Blackard shows us another example of taking away the red from oak furniture using a green wash in Eucalyptus. She then layered an Algonquin Paint Wash to lighten the colour a bit more!

Natalie Wilkins gives us another double layered paintwash using Cashmere and Algonquin. Taking this side table from outdated to modern. Check out the before here!
