Sometimes all it takes is a little paint to breathe new life into an outdated piece. In this Snowdrop Fusion Mineral Paint side table makeover, we took a thrifted, orange-toned table and transformed it into a chic, bright white piece in under an hour of painting time. Snowdrop by Fusion Mineral Paint.

Snowdrop is the truest, cleanest white in our collection. Think fresh snow on a winter morning, pure, crisp, and luminous. It’s the perfect go-to when you want a bright, modern finish that feels timeless and fresh all at once.

How to Prep Furniture for Painting with Fusion Mineral Paint
Every good paint project starts with a clean surface. We gave the table a quick wipe down with Fusion’s TSP Alternative, our eco-friendly degreaser. This step is essential; furniture often carries hidden grease, oils, or dust that can interfere with adhesion. Cleaning ensures the paint bonds beautifully to the surface. Painting Furniture White with Fusion’s Snowdrop – First Coat Tips
Using the Staalmeester One Series Angled Brush, we applied the first coat. As with most whites, the first coat looks somewhat transparent; this is completely normal! Don’t be discouraged.
A common misconception is that priming will help. Primer doesn’t improve coverage; it’s only needed in special situations, like blocking wood tannins (in which case, a shellac-based primer is best). For most projects, you only need your Fusion paint and a great Brush, no extra products required.
Pro Tip: Apply paint with just a small amount on your brush. On slick surfaces, especially, a thinner coat will glide more easily and, therefore, help prevent heavy brush marks. Furthermore, when painting, it is best to lay your paint on in sections; then, afterwards, smooth it out end-to-end and, finally, do so within the first minute or two before it begins drying.

When Painting Furniture, Trust The Process
By the second coat, the difference was dramatic, the orange wood was nearly gone, replaced by a smooth, bright finish. For extra measure, we added a third coat, which gave us perfect, solid coverage.

Next, we waited about an hour between coats to let the paint properly dry. Fusion’s quick dry time makes layering easy without slowing down your project.
Another top tip is to pop your brush into a sealed ziplock bag when not in use, especially between coats of paint. This saves wasting paint and washing your brush between coats of paint.

Snowdrop Fusion Mineral Paint Makeover: From Tired to Chic in Under an Hour
Then in less than an hour of actual painting time, this tired side table was not only refreshed but also completely transformed into a chic, modern piece.
We only used about ¼ of a pint of Snowdrop, meaning there’s plenty left over. One pint could easily cover two side tables and a dresser, with room to spare.
Fusion already has a built-in top coat, you don’t need to apply an additional sealer, which makes the finishing process quicker and easier.
For a finishing touch, consider updating the hardware. Even a quick coat of paint on the knobs can make the piece look fresh and current without spending extra.

Fusion Mineral Paint Snowdrop: The Brightest White for Furniture Makeovers
Snowdrop is a bright, pure white that instantly lightens and, as a result, modernizes any piece of furniture. In addition, it works well for small accents, such as side tables. Furthermore, it is not only suitable for these smaller pieces but also perfect for larger-scale projects, including kitchen cabinets or dressers. Finally, this colour is especially good when you want to achieve that fresh, airy look.
This makeover proves just how easy it is to take something outdated and make it beautiful again, with just a little paint, a little time and a great brush!
